Bosasa 

Bosasa is the lead entity and project driver in the Consortium.  The company is  a  niche market leader  in  operational management of secure care facilities,  risk management, maintenance, training and development and the provision of electronic security and monitoring. Through service excellence, Bosasa maintains an enviable relationship and partnership with the Department of Correctional Services (more than 37 DCS sites). Bosasa will be the principal provider of facilities management and security related services for the Project.  Bosasa Group Subsidiaries have already demonstrated capacity to provide the Department of Correctional Services with turnkey ‘High Security’ solutions.  Bosasa is the only truly South African company to provide detention facilities for the Department of Home Affairs as well as specialist programmes/ facilities for ‘Youth at Risk with Crime’ for the Department of Social Services.

Partnering with MTC (Management Training Centres) in the Operations Sub-Contract Bosasa  can deliver a seamless, dependable and measurable service to the Project.  As compatible partners Bosasa brings the insights and experience in South African Correctional Services Facilities Management and MTC delivers the international perspective. This is coupled to global best practise in the provision of Custodial Services.

The Umtya Nethunga Consortium recognises that there are a broad number of stakeholders in a Project of this nature, whose respective members deserve recognition and appropriate reward.  Employees at different levels are all stakeholders who willingly and loyally serve to ensure the short and long term success of such a Project.  The Project is at once a learning ground for the acquisition of new skills and an opportunity to apply knowledge in a challenging environment.  Risk management, project management, compliance and decision making are some of the many skills which are nurtured. The Consortium has designed innovative ways of spurring staff to greater achievement with the ethos it is promoting.  Staff will be included in both the benefits and active decision making through the establishment of the Employee Trust. The Trust will be a shareholder in the Private Party and local benefits will be maximized throughout its life.
